Demonstrating that their old material is still very much a part of who they are, French neo-classical tech-death band First Fragment release a new music video for ‘Paradoxal Subjugation’. Taken from their 2010 debut EP entitled ‘The Afterthought Ecstacy’, the bands video for ‘Paradoxical Subjugation’ was filmed, directed and edited by French Motion Designer Ismael Mossadeq alongside Xavier Bossé.
In speaking of the video, the band stated the following on their Facebook Page, ‘Our european tour with Obscura, Fallujah and Allegaeon starts in a week. We will perform new material as well as material from Dasein, but we will also be performing some old songs, including this one which is from The Afterthought Ecstasy released in 2010. There is no particular reason why we made a music video of a 10 year old song. We just felt like it. Directed & Edited by Ismael Mossadeq. Shot by Xavier Bossé & Ismael Mossadeq. Continuing, ‘Hey, just to let y'all know the followup to Dasein is still in progress. There are no change of plans whatsoever. It will be a 2020 release so there is nothing due this year. We just felt like releasing a video of an old song because we couldn't, nine years ago! Nick Miller, Forest and Nicholas Wells are in this video but not in the audio itself because the song was recorded in 2009 when the band was a trio. Phil Tougas recorded solos/rhythm guitar/bass and original member Gabriel Brault-Pilon (whom is not seen but heard) did rhythm guitar/bass. David did vocals. Just to clarify : Yes, Nick Miller, Nicholas Wells and Forest will be on our 3rd release. Yes, they are involved in the songwriting, and so is former guitarist and co-founder Gabriel Brault-Pilon! Yes, they are permanent members. No, we will not rerecord anything from the EP - we do not have the stems anymore, neither does the engineer, hence why we posted the audio as is and the audio from the cameras was not clear enough!
