German virtuoso Hannes Grossman best known for his work with Alkaloid, Blotted Science, Hate Eternal, Obscura and Necrophagist as well as his solo releases under the Hannes Grossman moniker is set to release the first single from his new album ‘Apophenia’.

Due for release on the 11th of March, from what we know about the album so far ‘Apophenia’ is set to feature Obscura’s Linus Klausenitzer on bass, Christian Münzner formally of Obscura on guitar, current Alkaloid guitarist Danny Tucker as well as Alkaloid’s Florian Magnus ‘Morean’ Maier on vocals. ‘Apophenia’ is also set to benefit from guest features from former Megadeath guitarist Marty Freidman, current Nevermore/Arch Enemy guitarist Jeff Loomis and former Obscura guitarist Tom ‘Fountainhead’ Geldschläger.

Throwing the gauntlet down at the feet of conspiracy theorists, the first of the albums eight tracks entitled ‘The Flying Pizza Conundrum’ is an unmistakable attack upon the beliefs of flat-earthers. Revealing a common theme of the album, Grossman announced that, ‘My dear friend Morean was kind enough to contribute lyrics for three of the songs, which deal with conspiracy theories, and more precisely with the Flat Earth Movement. Continuing ‘The main topic of the album deals with these ideas — and basically tells extremists to leave us alone with their stupidity and keep the made-up bullshit to themselves’.

‘Apophenia’ is available for pre-order now and be sure to check out ‘The Flying Pizza Conundrum’ below.
