After making a waves in the metal community with the release of ‘King of Everything’ and the reissue of ‘Cloud Factory’, Jinjer are certainly a band to watch. Noted for their rock-solid performances and intense touring schedule, Jinjer have decided that it is time for some more tunes. Set to release in January of 2019, ‘Micro’ will consist of 5 tracks and will feature Jinjer’s unique anthemic blend of technicality and groove.

Speaking of the release bassist Eugene Abdiukhanov had this to say, ‘Nearly two and a half years since releasing and touring for our ‘King Of Everything’ album, we all got the urge to start writing new music again. The passion to create new songs had grown bigger than you could imagine and we converted all that energy into something special and brand new… and it seems like we’ve created a monster and I can’t wait for all of you to give it a listen!’.

Promising that the new EP will encompass a more progressive edge than what we have seen thus far, the recent release of the first song from ‘Micro’, Ape sure seems to point towards a new more tastier direction for the band. Seemingly drawing influences from across the metal landscape, Eugene had this to say, ‘It’s been two years since we have released new material, and it was high time to bring something brand new to the table. By last Spring we collected a bunch of musical ideas which we eagerly wanted to turn into songs, in other words we really had something to say with our music. So here you are!’.

Interestingly, at the time of writing, Jinjer have capitalized on the positive fan reaction to ‘Ape’ and have released the second single from ‘Micro’, titled ‘Dreadful Moments’. Feeling a lot darker than ‘Ape’, the band’s Facebook page had this to say, ‘This is the darkest song we have ever made both musically and lyrically. Something that will make you live through all the horror so many people had to experience over all their childhood, something that will never let you stay indifferent’.

From what we have heard so far, make sure to look for ‘Micro’ in the coming new year.
