Surprising the community with a brutal pre-album tease, tech death metallers Vale of Pnath unveil the title track of their new EP entitled ‘Accursed’. Scheduled for release on the 17th of May, Vale Of Pnath stir their unique blend of tech death adrenaline with black metal’s iniquitous aura to bring us a seven song follow-up to 2016’s universally loved ‘II’.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Shane Howard at Sawn and Quartered Studios, concision with depth best describes the five main compositions of the EP, while the cold, mechanistic opening soundscape of ‘Shadow and Agony’ and the chilling interlude ‘Audient Void’ make for the perfect release best absorbed as a holistic musical experience, albeit one that is the stuff of nightmares. The picture that ‘Accursed’ will paint is a bleak one. Fair warning to everyone set on picking up this release, the intensity set to be released is nothing short of full devastation to the nervous system and irreparable trauma to the psyche.

In describing the single, the bands record label Willowtip Records announce that, ‘On ‘Accursed’, Vale Of Pnath immediately put the pedal to the floor with riffing as intense as anything they’ve ever penned; portending to the five minutes of utter fury that follows. A strong key presence still pervades the band’s undercurrent, but this time things feel darker, more sinister. If tension and release is the basis for musical dynamics, ‘Accursed’ pushes the former to its pressure point, offering little respite for the listener to regain resolve. In short, it’s exactly what you want to hear for a pre-album teaser.
