Originally released in November of 2017, ‘Pain Will Define Their Death’ was one of the most ferocious EPs of that year. Despite being just three songs in length, each one is packed to the unforgiving brim with violent, visceral blackened death metal. Totaling just over twelve minutes, with ‘Pain Will Define Their Death’, Vitriol manage to do more in three songs than many albums achieve with ten.
Bringing the heavy with a virtuosity not uncommon for band of this genre, their apparent ability to craft memorable passages without sacrificing the brutality weaves a drive to re-spin the record over and over again into each composition. Punishing, yet rewarding, the structured delirium of ‘Pain Will Define Their Death’ packs a devastating punch, but once you acclimatize, you will never look back.
And for those of you already hooked on Vitriol’s particular blend of death metal, back in November of this year the band announced via their official Facebook page that in response to the positive reaction to ‘Pain Will Define Their Death’ the EP will be re-released via Everlasting Spew in a physical format. In addition, the re-release will also feature a new previously unreleased track entitled ‘The Parting of a Neck’ that the band hopes will ‘aid in the wait for a full-length’.
Made available this week, the band took to Facebook once again to deliver the following, ‘I want to thank all of those who contributed to such a strong debut week for the physical pressings of "Pain Will Define Their Death" ... We appreciate all of the shares and efforts in spreading the word.’ To hear the new track and witness some truly amazing ‘guitar face’ check out the band’s play through below.
