Progressive death metallers Fractal Universe release the first single from their new album entitled ‘Rhizomes of Insanity’. Due for release on the 19th of April, Fractal Universe are set to build upon the successes of 2017’s ‘Engram of Decline’ with the release of their technically dense, yet wholly accessible sophomore album.
Mixed and mastered by the bands long-time engineer Flavien Morel of Boundless Productions Studios, Fractal Universe kick start their Metal Blade Records debut with an album that hits just as hard intellectually as it does sonically.
Affirming their place among your years listening material, ‘‘Rhizomes of Insanity‘ is a concept album based on a thought experiment around the concept of insanity,’ states vocalist/guitarist Vince Wilquin. Continuing, ‘It questions the origins of it, and tries to define where we set its boundaries with ‘reason’. It eventually questions its place in our modern society and surmises that it has turned into an intrinsic, unavoidable but also necessary part of it and of every human being, which we’re trying to repress at all costs.’
In speaking of their recent deal with Metal Blade, Wilquin notes that ‘Since the beginning of the band, we’ve always given ourselves a 100% to offer our fans the best possible music and memorable live performances. With ‘Rhizomes of Insanity‘ and our forthcoming collaboration with Metal Blade Records, I believe we now have the perfect cards in hand to bring Fractal Universe to the next level’.
In celebration of their new album, the band have provided a pre-album tease in the form a single and music video for ‘Oneiric Realisations’ directed by Vincent Tournaud and shot over a two day period at l'Autre Canal in Nancy, France.
