Tech-death supergroup Equipoise release their third single from the upcoming release entitled ‘Demiurgus’. Due for release on the 8th of March via The Artisan Era, ‘Demiurgus’ will be the band’s first full length studio release following in the wake of their 2016 EP ‘Birthing Homunculi’.

Made up of all your favorite flavors of tech-death, Equipoise is a band consisting of Steve Boiser vocalist/lyricist for Inferi, Tethys, Ashen Horde and ex-Vale of Pnath; Phil Tougas guitarist for First Fragment, Chthe’ilist, Zealotry, and Serocs; newcomer Nick Padovani on guitar; Sanjay Kumar guitarist for Wormhole and Perihelion; Hugo Doyon-Karout bassist for Beyond Creation and Brought by Pain; Jimmy Pitts pianist for Eternity’s End, NYN and The Fractured Dimension; and Chason Westmoreland drummer for Burning the Masses, ex-The Faceless and ex-Hate Eternal.

Offering a death metal experience unlike any other, as guitarist Nick Padovani explains, ‘‘Demiurgus’ is the culmination of 3 years of refinement packaged into 63 minutes of thoughtful compositions. The 14 tracks found within will take you through a journey inspired by the anime series, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, with lyrics, masterfully crafted and executed by Stevie Boiser’.

Offering a sound that incorporates orchestral elements as well as differing styles of music, ‘Demiurgus’ will not be pigeonholed by one sound alone. As Padovani explains, ‘The material on this album is a logical progression from the band’s debut release, ‘Birthing Homunculi’, further exploring the use of nylon guitars, fretless bass, and symphonic elements. Every track was carefully crafted to maintain a cohesiveness that complements the sinister subject matter. Fans of such bands as Obscura, Necrophagist, Gorod, and Beyond Creation should find themselves captivated by this effort, while fans of unconventional elements in metal will be just as pleased’.

As for the new single ‘Dualis Flamel’, the wizardry of the bands master level proficiency is on full display in this eight-and-a-half-minute epic of boundless talent. Offering a baffling combination of melody and counter melody Equipoise do a fantastic job of balancing musical conclusion with ridiculous skill, not to mention the fourteen guitar solos that feature on the track.

Be sure to stream the track below and be sure to pick this one up on the 8th of March.
